Nursing Home Outreach

Sharing the Love of Jesus with Our Neighbors
At Alva Church of the Nazarene, we believe ministry does not stay inside the walls of the church. One of the ways we live out the love of Christ is by serving residents, families, and staff in our local nursing homes. Our pastor, Charles Wells, serves as chaplain at New Beginnings and Beadles Nursing Home, providing ongoing spiritual care, encouragement, prayer, and pastoral support to residents, families, and employees.Through regular visits, prayer, Scripture, worship, and personal conversation, this ministry seeks to remind each person that they are seen, valued, loved, and never forgotten by God.
Why This Ministry Matters
Many nursing home residents face loneliness, grief, physical limitations, and major life transitions. Our desire is to bring the hope and presence of Jesus into those spaces with compassion, consistency, and Christlike love.We believe every visit matters. A simple conversation, prayer, song, or listening ear can become a powerful reminder of God’s grace.
What We Do
→ Visit and encourage residents
→ Pray with residents, families, and staff

→ Support and encourage nursing home employees as needs arise
→ Build meaningful relationships through presence and compassion
Supporting Residents & Staff
This ministry is not only about caring for residents, but also supporting the dedicated employees who serve them each day. Nursing home staff often carry emotional, physical, and spiritual burdens while caring for others. We desire to encourage, pray for, and walk alongside them whenever needs arise.
Our Heart
Our goal is not simply to provide a program, but to be present with people in the name of Jesus. We want residents, families, and staff to know they are part of our wider community and that God’s love reaches them right where they are.
