Breaking News: God Still Keeps His Promises
If you scroll through the news today, you’ll find broken promises everywhere. Politicians break them. Companies break them. People break them. Sometimes… we break them.
But imagine opening the paper and seeing this headline: Breaking News: God Still Keeps His Promises. Because while the world changes by the hour, God does not. What He said yesterday still stands today. What He promised thousands of years ago is still true right now.
When God says He will forgive — He does. When God says He will never leave you — He won’t.When God says He is working all things together for good — He means it.
In a world full of uncertainty, this is the good news we can trust: God has never failed to keep His Word — and He won’t start with you. Scripture reminds us in 2 Timothy 2:13 (ESV),“If we are faithless, He remains faithful — for He cannot deny Himself.”
We will never be perfect in following God. We are human, limited by a broken world shaped by sin. But Jesus understands. He stepped into our humanity, lived among our weakness, and walked with us through suffering. That’s why His faithfulness is not distant — it’s personal.
Recently, I saw this faithfulness up close in my own life. Earlier this year, I had a septoplasty on January 12. For years I dealt with constant pressure, headaches, dizziness, chronic sinus infections, and struggling just to breathe normally. Over time, discomfort became “normal.” I learned to live with it.
But after the surgery, when those splints came out and I took that first full breath, I remember thinking, this is what breathing is supposed to feel like. This is what I have been missing out on for so long.
In that moment, God reminded me of something deeper. It wasn’t just about my nose — it was about His faithfulness. God strengthened me through all of those years of suffering. God carried me through surgery. God sustained me through weakness and recovery. God reminded me that healing takes time, but His promises never fail.
Sometimes we don’t realize how much God has been sustaining us until He brings us into a new season of freedom. So, here’s the headline I would print over my life today: Breaking News: God Still Keeps His Promises.
He promised to be with me — and He was.He promised strength — and He gave it.He promised healing — and He is still working. And if He’s been faithful to me, I guarantee He will be faithful to you.
God loves you with an everlasting and measureless love. He proved that love in the greatest way possible — through the cross. Jesus suffered and died so that God’s promise of salvation could be fulfilled. That is faithfulness written in blood and sealed in resurrection power.
When life gets hard, allow God to deepen your faith. Let Him stretch you beyond your comfort zone. Trust Him in the waiting, in the weakness, and in the unknown. I can tell you from experience — God will show up again and again. I am living proof of God’s faithfulness.
As I close, I want to leave you with words from the hymn Great Is Thy Faithfulness, written in 1923 by Thomas O. Chisholm. Read them slowly and let them remind you of who God is: Great is Thy faithfulness, Great is Thy faithfulness,Morning by morning new mercies I see.All I have needed Thy hand hath provided;Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me.
